Love Fathers and What I Wore

How was Father's Day?  We had a wonderful day!  So much to tell, it was a busy weekend.

This weekend was also the anniversary of my pappa's death.  Coincidentally my friend down the street just lost her dad as well.  It was good to be there for her, as she was for me.

I take great comfort in my faith, and as I continue to learn and gain knowledge I am assured that my dad felt such immense freedom as he left the entrapment, that was his handicapped body.  He is a man of great faith and I am assured that he is not 'gone'.   What joy that brings to my heart.

Church was good... although I missed the whole second hour, I was in the hall catching up with Molly, then her daughter brought in ice cream, so then there was that...

The sister missionaries told me that they are meeting with my newest friend Carrie!  Can't wait to be there for that.  This is the craziest story to share, it takes much explaining!  She really has been my friend for all of 5 days, but she and I will make a great team!

We had friends over for a BBQ last night so I spent time getting ready for that!

We laughed our guts out all evening long... no alcohol required folks!  We are a funny bunch.  I loved it!

I took photos so I can show you all the great accomplishment that is my deck!

It is finally finished and looks great!

I'm shouting out to my hubs in this post, yesterday being father's day and all...

I LOVE this man!

Of all the things I admire about him, his devotion to being a fantastic father, is one that I am thankful for, attracted to and appreciative of.

My love for him has deepened over the years and watching him be a great father certainly is a large facet of my deep love for him.

I love that our children know they can depend on him, that he fills our house with joy and laughter, that he is our leader.  He is balanced, connected and affectionate with our kids.

They KNOW he loves them, because he shows them.

Who could ask for anything more?  I'm not sure if they will realize how blessed they are to have him, until they are older and see just how rare he is.

Love you babe!

I know I'm a day late, but we're still doing this!

Here is a recent Sunday look.

I got this skirt at a consignment shop.  There isn't a lot of room to move in the waist of this dress, so it is saved for those days that I'm feeling thin!

I needed some length on it so I took out the bottom hem, which was like 2 inches.  See that in this post..

I paired it with this sheer mint top and my new $10 shoes!  I know... love.  Right?

top: marshalls, skirt: platos closet, shoes: the shoe department, necklace: downeast, bracelets: target

I put my hair up in a pony, braided it and pinned it in a bun.  Easy peasy this week!
