For Q

I had a post all ready the other day and I lost it.
Funny since this saves like every minute. Not sure how I managed that one!

Today's post is for little Q. I need to update where she is in her life right now.

First, is she not so dang cute? Sometimes I can't believe what she is growing into and at other times I still see my little baby in her face.

I have to write down that she saved the day twice last week, both times on the same day! She was so thrilled when she told me about it! First she found something at school that the teacher was looking for and the teacher was grateful. Second, our friend that we carpool with had her keys in the car while getting everyone in. All the doors ended up closed and someone locked her out! Q was able to get out of her seat belt and unlock the doors! Nice story, yes! We focus on Q saving the day and no part which may have endangered any one person!!!

Q was the leader of the day today at school. They get to do show and tell on their day. I asked her what she wanted to take today and she decided on a photo that she keeps in her room. It is of Matt and I on our wedding day. Isn't that so cute! When asked why she wanted to take that she responded that she like the frame then that she loved her mom and dad. Pretty sweet. I was touched.

Along the lines of photos she keeps in her room, I have a couple of her as a baby and a couple of her on her blessing day out on her dresser. The blessing ones are of all of us then one of she and I. What is particularly special about these photos is the fact that we can tell how Q is feeling by how they are placed. Q had gotten in trouble one day and went up to talk to Q after. He noticed the frames were faced down and asked about it. She had put one down because she was mad at Matt, for putting her in time out, and the other was down because she was mad at me, for making her wear pants that day! So, if we ever wonder, we can go check out the frames to see where we stand!

Q is loving school. Her teachers say she does so well at school. She brings homework home each week. We practice writing letters. We have made progress, Q is all about doing it on her own. We haven't worked on writing mostly because she just wants to do it by herself. She does let me help her now and we are working together!

Q also takes dance class. I talked to one of her teachers last night at my class and she said that Q is usually quiet during tap, but that she changes into a different person when she puts on her ballet shoes! I'm no ballerina so it will be interesting if that is what she loves! I took G with us to her class last week and we got to watch a little. I am totally bias, but she's really good, at the little stuff I saw her do. I still have a fear that we'll get to the show at the end of the year and she'll decide she doesn't want anything to do with it! I guess we'll get a costume out of it!

I'm not surprised, but Q is a leader. She is determined, spirited, creative, a tad bossy (who am I kidding, this is our life challenge! Stop bossing everyone!!!!), and very loving and caring. She has a wonderful laugh, a giving spirit, and can be so thoughtful. She loves to color and craft. She loves to set up all of her stuff or 'decorate' as she calls it. She is smart, she loves her Savior and she teaches me so much.

I love this little girl. At times I feel challenged with her being so much like me. I hold a firm line with her and sometimes forget that she just needs gentle love. Like with me, her dad plays such an important role in bringing balance. He does such a great job at making her laugh and loving her. We are blessed to have our little Q and love her so much!
