Last week was winter break. My friend Tara has said that it is the worst idea ever, to make the kids stay home for a week... in the middle of winter! If you vacation it's lovely, but we normally stay home!
Monday Matt had off so we spent time together as a family.
Tuesday Molly and I took the kids to the bounce house, or as O call it 'Bouncie's house'. They all had such a great time! They all left sweaty!
Wednesday both Q and G had a friend over to play.
Thursday through Sunday we had the C's kids here. They went to GA for a funeral and we were happy to take their kids. They all love to play together and get along so well. I wondered how they would do (most of the older kids being girls) spending SO much time together. They did great, no fighting! They were all in heaven! Feeding 8 children several times a day is quite the feat, though!
So Thursday they were here and my friend Haley came too, from Rochester. We visited for 4 hours STRAIGHT! The time flew! She is so great and I'm so glad they came to the Buff. A few more kids didn't seem too overwhelming either! I will say Thursday was the loudest day of the whole weekend! Everyone excited to be together.
Friday we stayed home, I worked on some photo sets, took just a few pictures before the sun went down.
Saturday I ran, met a new friend/runner, hurt my foot, then took the kids to see Gnomeo and Juliet. We packed a treat bag for each of them and got popcorn and drinks. They all loved the show. We went and grabbed food after and were set for the night.
I only took the big kids to church on Sunday, not enough car seats, plus, that could have been challenging w/ 3 toddlers!
Molly came home Sunday. I'm so glad we are good enough friends that we could help. We love them so much, they really are some of our very best friends.
THIS WEEK.
Well, I came home from dance on Monday and O was still awake. As I came in he was all excited and talking to me about 'it being ok' and 'he'll love me better'. What?
I hear M saying 'can you tell her what you did to her glasses?'
Eyes wide open he intensely says 'I broke them!'
Yep, he sure did!
Yesterday I went hunting for new glasses. Fortunately I got new contacts almost 2 years ago and that RX is still good. Also, I have been wanting new glasses, my script is pretty dang old. I've had those glasses for about ten years. I sense a theme with the ten year time span. I need to roam my house and see what else we've had that long, surely it will die soon!
As for my foot, ANNOYING! I don't know what I did to it, but wearing shoes is killing me, unless it's heels. When my weight is on the ball of my L foot I'm fine. I tried to run on Monday and after trying on a bunch of different shoes, ran in my cheap flats. I basically ran on the ball of my L foot the whole time. I only went 3 miles. I guess I need to rest it, but that just frustrates me. I hate going to the doctor... it had better be normal soon!
