Playing Santa
Normally Matt and I split the kids' Christmas $$$ and each buy them gifts without telling each other what we bought them. It's been fun. Each of us are surprised to see what Santa got them!
This year we decided, well I guess I did, to have us shop for them together. I thought it would be fun to get excited together about what to get them. So, for our date night on Saturday we went to eat then hit the stores, or Target. I guess girls are born with some kind of strange marathon strength when it comes to shopping. Matt was finished after Target!!! We did get a ton done and it was fun to shop for our kids together.
The bonus to shopping together... for Matt... is that he now doesn't have to wrap anything! Again, another girly thing I love to do! It's working out well!
We also bought a gingerbread house to make together. We'll do that tomorrow night.
I did take Q out shopping on Saturday after her dance class. We had the same conversation that included thinking about what her brother would really like. She chose a light saber that lights up... 'that way when Marcus comes over they both can have a light saber', very thoughtful.
As we left Target we had some drama with Q and as a result we just had an FHE about honoring mom & dad through obedience. I thoughtfully included a story that compared two kids, one with a mom that always said yes and one with a mom that said no, even though it made her child upset. We are working on it!
Oh, hello, and on that same trip to Target I got some Christmas dishes. Thanks Matt! I have wanted some for forever. I love the ones I got and I got them in the dollar spot. The ones that are 2.50. Anyway, totally excited to have them this year! They are way cute!
Sunday was the Christmas show for Center Stage. I was so pleased with my dance. I cried! Many people commented and it really made me happy. It was a great success.
