Merry Christmas
I hope everyone had a great Christmas.
We sure did.
I love hearing from friends and family. Getting cards, photos and phone calls is so fabulous!
Matt has been off work all this week. We have loved being together as a family.
Back to Friday...
Quinlyn's Pre-K class had a party. They sang us songs and Santa came.
All of the other siblings were excited to see Santa too. G still has a healthy fear of the stranger!
I was a bit surprised as we were driving home and Q said to me... mom, I don't think that was really Santa. I think he was just an old man who dressed up. Um, okay, I wasn't ready for that. We talked about how Santa doesn't have time to be here AND at the North Pole getting ready, so he needs helpers. She still believes in Santa though! Whew!
Sunday we let the kids open two gifts that were to both of them from us. One was a little puzzle and the other was 'go fish'. We had fun playing them together. We also opened our family gift...
A 2007 snow globe. The kids are so fascinated with these. Did you know that Q knows what the #'s 2007 mean? She learned it at school. Anyway...
Christmas Eve we went to the Hulse's house. They had a ton of people over for dinner and a children's nativity. I'm glad we went. We had a good time. Q didn't want to dress up; I apparently brought the 'wrong' dress up for her! G was excited to be a shepherd and seriously was so stinkin' cute!!!
We came home and each of the kids opened their gifts to each other. They both LOVED their gifts. I think G's light saber trumped anything even Santa brought him!!!
Christmas morning I woke up because I thought I heard G. It was Q and she was quietly playing in her room. G woke up about the same time I got up to check on her. I was expecting more excitement. Matt heard Q, in G's room, whisper... I went downstairs and there are lots of presents, that means Santa came. Okay, good. They were both so excited! In years past we've handed them presents. This year, since they both know their names, they found their gifts and just kept opening them! It was fun. We recorded it. I took a few pictures, but mostly enjoyed it.
Matt and I were going to get small things for each other. I need a changing table and we got a new big rug for the play/baby room. I got him some stuff and made him a piece of art. He spoiled me with 5 50 minute massages. Oh, I can't wait!!! What a great gift... that keeps on giving!!!
These past few days have been relaxing. I've been creating stuff! I haven't for so long. I'll post that later. We've done many puzzles, watched movies, the kids have played so well together, today I went shopping, it's been a good break! I don't want it to end!
