Good bye to fall
I'm back up and running. We've been having such internet problems and it's been affecting our phone too. So annoying! We had someone come out on Saturday and he replace the cable coming into our home so hopefully we are cured!
We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am grateful to have such wonderful people surrounding us to make the holidays so much fun, despite the lack of family near by.
We hosted this year and the food was fabulous, the games were full of laughs and the kids were maintenance free... We did have a large mess to clean up afterwards, but hey, that's what makes it a holiday!
Since we had to move our furniture around for the feast I got the Christmas stuff out right away and we are decking the halls! We were going to get our Christmas tree this weekend, but it didn't work out. Hopefully we'll have it this week.
Here are some photos to remember the lovely fall season in our home...
First Frost
New wreath I made
Sparkling pumpkins, also homemade
Thanksgiving table
Kids place cards
We spent Wednesday preparing for Thursday. Thursday we cooked and finished last minute stuff. Matt was in charge of the turkey, homemade stuffing and gravy. He did such a fantastic job. I made pie and our other guests filled in the rest. They all started arriving at 3pm and didn't leave until 8:30. The time flew right by!
Friday we stayed in. We broke out some of the puzzles Grandma Helen sent us... Thank you, by the way! We haven't done puzzles for a long time, but we did two 300 piece ones on Friday! The kids love their new puzzles and played with them all day. They'd come to help us with ours as we neared the end! And, of course we feasted on left overs!
Saturday, besides having our internet fixed we had some separate boy/girl time. Paige came over and we shopped for supplies for our holiday gifts and decor and the boys watched the BYU/UT game. The kids played together and were in heaven! That evening we had dinner with the Chamberlains and played games.
Yesterday really was a day of rest and recovery!
So sad the holiday weekend is over! I can't wait for Christmas break!
