October Storm... We Have Power
It's ironic reading that last post... then reading the comment from a local friend... the one where it says it's snowing!
We finally have power again!
Thursday night it went out.
Friday morning we emerged to see the damage, the widespread, jaw dropping damage!
Our home has been 50 degrees.
Last night we were so bummed to drive down our street to see the opposite side had power... and we still didn't... another cold night.
Friends and neighbors have been fabulous... so helpful and kind.
Our basement flooded... we watched it... helpless. But, forewarned so we could move all but the carpet to safety.
Our trees fell. Our gigantic trees, everyone's trees, all over the road, on our housetop. So blessed that they didn't do damage to our home or come through any windows.
Again, loving the kindness of all, the swiftness of help. The calmness of everyone.
We have power. Felt like I won the lottery saying those words tonight!
