Tonight...
Matt is out with the guys. Good for him. He is refreshing, rejuvenating and hopefully staying on the "positive" side. (wink at hubby here)
Last night I was out with the girls. Good for me. You know, speaking of last night I was thinking, I've always had a large circle of friends. Last night I was hanging out with women twice my age who had been divorced, been through rough circumstances, have children my age, and you know, it really didn't matter. We connected, we laughed, we shared common experiences. I have always found it easy to make friends, no matter the age difference. I have always noticed it, and have always appreciated it. All women have something to give, and valuing that, receiving that, and giving back ties us together, it makes us appreciate one another and feel appreciated. And THAT, is good.
Yesterday we were outside and after noticing and enjoying the PERFECT weather for a moment, I went and got my camera. Good thing because I caught a cute moment. Q was just playing at the picnic table and just lying down. I could see the light go on in her head, then she turned over and started "paddling". Look mom, I'm on a surf board. Then she hopped up and started surfing! (I've always wanted to learn to surf, by the way) Then she wobbled and fell off and said, "Woa daddy". She then explained to me that is what Pablo says when he falls off. For those of you who don't know, Pablo is the blue penguin on "Backyardigans". So glad I caught that. I have never seen her poke her little hip out like that!
And, little G, bless his heart, mostly just does what Q tells him to. They were both laying down in the grass looking up at the sky. I wish I would've caught that one on film. She gets so sad when he wants to do his own thing. He is so into cars and loves to line them up right now. We picked up an old book to read the other night and Matt asked what's this? G said it's a red fire truck with black tires and silver wheels? Okay! A simple 'fire truck' would've sufficed! He's bright as fetch, but still can't wave like a normal person! That's what makes him so blasted cute!
Other noteworthy things...
-I'll be finishing my family's photos this weekend (if any of them still read this and are curious)
-Tomorrow I register for a class I'm taking
-This month I'll be teaching country line dancing to the youth (That's pretty funny since I haven't been since high school. I looked online and will be just fine. Where is Mike Isom and Jason Dixon when you need them?)
-I got our home preschool gear and am pretty stoked about it
-I finished a CJ entry, I'll try to post that soon.
-Today was my second day wearing long sleeves. I did "the change" in my closet today. I'm excited for fall.
