The air feels different

Yesterday we worked on pulling a large limb down. While we were gone there was a massive storm and wind alone pulled numerous limbs off our majestic weeping willow tree. There is a naked spot now. That old, wise tree was humbled by the ferocious wind. Amazing. Mother nature sometimes destroys her own.

I was up on the roof last night checking things out. I found the vent that is supposed to open each time we turn on the upstairs air. Whoever painted it didn't wait until it was dry. It was stuck. As I pried it open the struggle was released. The wind raced through our house, free.

Today I've had the back door open. The air flowing through our home is refreshing, cool. With the vent now open the air is wild, cleansing. This house needs it.

The temperature is so different today. The air is crisp and cool. It feels like fall. I used to be a goddess of summer. It was the ONLY season for me! Times have changed for sure. Today as I felt for the first time that summer is not the season I prefer. I think I am in the right place geographically for what I am beginning to prefer. I am excited, so excited for fall, even winter.

Our trip... a review
Our flight was good to UT. We had a small delay. We thought it was a direct flight, but there was a stop where we didn't get off the plane. I don't know which is worse, a real layover where you get off and run around, or a 'stop' where you wait for people to get off the plane, then more people to get on. The kids and I had a row of our own and Matt was stuffed into the row beside us with two other adults. PLUS G wanted to be with him from time to time! Fun! We got the seating arrangement better for the flight home.

Rod, Matt's brother was there to pick us up. We were able to borrow Helen's van for the trip. That was very nice. I don't know if it's because Rod is really the best uncle, or just because he was the first to greet us, but his name has stuck with G and he remembers him the best... on Matt's side. He's also quite fond of uncle 'Cotty' (Scotty).

We dropped Rod off, grabbed some lunch and headed down to Orem for this little gal's first birthday party. Isn't she sweet?

My brother Damon and his little family were staying at Cand's too. It was SO good to be with them. Camryn immediately became Q's favorite cousin! Also a very cute girl. She is confident w/o being bossy (my girl tends to take over in that area). She is funny, and man does she love her daddy. Here is a photo of Damon's family.

The boys went golfing Thursday morning. My family came down to Orem that afternoon and we had a big family party. It started with family photos taken by yours truly. I think I'll post them on my photosite as I finish them. After photos we swam for a while, then headed back to the park for a BBQ. It was good seeing my family.
