And The Winner Was....
This past December I posted this on FB asking for nominations.
It was neat to read through these, and hard to make a choice! So many great people out there, and so many who care for them. I wish I could give more than a silly photo shoot to someone, but this is what I do, this is what I can give. And we all want this right? We all want these memories, this time captured.
Not all of us can afford it, some of us never even thought about hiring someone to take our pictures...you can do that at Walmart or JCPenny right? Not all of us feel like we look good to have pictures done right now, maybe our family isn't complete, or someone is missing.
Many different reasons that this time, this chapter in your life isn't recorded, documented, hanging on your wall in your home.
I wanted to give that to someone.
I received an email from Amanda, nominating her parents.
She told me about these two people, hard working parents, both retired US Navy. Mom works with the mentally disabled and dad works with .
Amanda, their daughter lives out of state and she, with her husband haven't been back here to NY since their wedding. They have not had family photos since that wedding day!
Amanda and Eric, themselves had to make some sacrifices to get their little family here. I know all about how expensive it is to travel with your family... to see family.
This visit was the first time grandpa got to meet his second grandson.
This is the family I chose to give this shoot to.
Such good people!
I know I say it all of the time, but I think even more than the photography itself I love connecting with others through what I do. I love to laugh with them, hear their stories, see their love and friendship, and capture that. LOVE IT!
Here are some moments from our time together.

Silly kid, totally happy to stick his wet finger in his grandpa's ear!
This comes way too natural to this pappa!
