Valentine Pallet Art - Valentine Mantle
This Valentine mantle just sort of came together on it's own.
As I pulled out my V-day stuff to decorate, I felt as I have since we have moved, decorating for holidays. That is both excited and stumped!
With this new house situation, each holiday I have to re-figure how to decorate using all of my stuff, and it mostly feels like I don't have enough stuff!
Good thing I like to make 'stuff'!
I had picked up a pallet a couple of weeks ago, because I saw it and wanted to do something with it.
When I pulled out the 'LOVE and arrow sticker' I bought last year on clearance, it hit me...
Don't you love when inspiration hits?
Goodbye to my old V-day mantles, it's time for something new!
I pulled all of the pallet wood apart and put it all together so there were no spaces.
I used screws at both ends to attach the wood to scrap wood on the back.
I lightly sanded the wood then painted it with chalk paint.
I got this 'snow white' at Target for 2.98! Love that!
After all the paint was on, I distressed just a little bit.
I let it dry all of the way, then put this sticker on the wood.
It's a sticker, so there are parts that aren't perfectly adhered to the uneven surface of the wood.
But, it was super easy application, and you can't tell from a distance, so I'm totally going with it.
It came together super fast. The hardest part was getting all of the pallet wood apart.
It is the perfect February mantle center piece. I love it!
This pallet art dictated my choices for the mantle.
I went with mint, gold and pink and kept the decor more simple than my other mantles (fall, Halloween mantle, Christmas mantle)
I'll show you all of the fun garlands I have made for February tomorrow.
Today, let's just enjoy this pallet art. It deserves a day of it's own!
