Wait... Before You Trash Your Tree... Winter Decor

How was Christmas?
We had a wonderful time!  We had friends over Christmas Eve, opened gifts Christmas morning, relaxed and played with new toys, watched movies, ate, laughed.  It has been wonderful!

Are you the type to move on real quick, pack everything up before New Years?
I'm not.  I put things away slow, and some things I mean, they-stay-up-through-January slow!
I have a hard time letting go of the magic.
Winter holds her own magic and she has finally hit here in the Buff.
Anything winter will stay up through January.

Why not decorate for the new year?
It is a time to celebrate!  We are filled with hope and renewal, new starts are ahead, it is an exciting time!

These next few days, along with adjusting home decor, I will be reviewing 2015, and thinking ahead to 2016.  It is good to see where I stood, where I currently am, and where I want to go.

I wanted to share some ideas of things I've done for this transition period.
Last year I wanted to recycle my Christmas tree after we took it down.  Here is what I did with it...

I cut my tree apart, spray painted the boughs and trunk silver, and used them for my January/winter mantle.

I also took some boughs, spray painted them gold and used them in my front room, for New Year's decor.

My last 'recycle' project has nothing to do with New Year's, but I'll show you anyway.  I created a piece of art by arranging the cut trunk of our tree on a piece of sheet metal.  I love it!

These posts also have great Winter/ New Year decorating ideas.  Be sure to check out the posts.

Here are some printables I put up during this time of year:
