Our Newest Dinner Addition = Squash
Lately we've been eating squash. That isn't normal for most people I'm sure! It certainly isn't normal for us!
Admittedly this is the first year the butternut, spaghetti and acorn have been invited into our home!
Last year I tried a butternut bisque at a holiday party and I loved it.
And, as I looked through an allrecipe magazine this fall, with all of the good looking food I decided I'd experiment! I bought me some squash!
I've only used the butternut so far (twice), but I'm confident all will be a delightful new addition to what I cook.

I found this easy crockpot butternut soup. What could be better than that? Throw everything in a crockpot (after first figuring out how to peel and cut this thing) and the work is done! My kind of cooking.
This soup is yum! Seriously, I've made it twice.
I froze some for grandma Florence, and for my own lunch time!
First time I made it without cayenne, and with chicken stock because I had no vegetable stock. Second time added just a little cayenne, and used veggie stock. I liked it both ways.
In the Allrecipes magazine I found a recipe for Parmesan Roasted Acorn Squash.
It looks hearty and tasty. I will be making that this week.

I bought the spaghetti squash out of curiosity. I have had to look for a recipe for it. I just grabbed it at the store, figured we'd just jump into this whole squash thing!
Not appealing to me is to dump spaghetti sauce on this thing and call it good. I'm not a fan of spaghetti in the first place.
I have found a couple of recipes that look interesting.
