How Do You Organize... Necklaces and Small Closets

Yesterday was so nice... like almost 50 degrees nice.

I ran outside... in shorts.  The sun was shining, the kids played outside.  It was such a great day!

Today we are all home with blizzard-like conditions outside!

What the crap?  

I'm just glad I had yesterday, it certainly gave me strength for today!

Yesterday I decided to change out my closet.  I put away the fall and winter colors and brought out spring and summer.  Even though it's a blizzard out there, I am ready to wear a different color pallet!

It takes me a while, it's a project!  Mostly because I have several closets that house my things!

We know I have a tiny closet right?  I've told you that I have my stuff in EVERYone else's closet right?

I thought I'd share with you how I maximize the space I have in the closet that is in my room.

I never thought anything of it, but as people see my closet they nod approval at my brilliant idea - okay I'm no Einstein, I may be exaggerating a little!

Here is a shot at the tops here in my closet... I've since changed a bunch of stuff out, but you get the idea.

Do you color coordinate your closet?  Of course you do!

Most of my hangers double up.  This example has a sheer top with a sheer cardigan over it... and a necklace, which I'll get to...

Here is another example... cardigan over a top.  I have a ton of cardigans so they go over shirts in the same color.  Cardi's have a tendency to slide off hangers.  Layering them on the hanger prevents that.

I also put put tanks with tees, layer vests over each other... multiples I tell you!

There is no more room for hangers, but there is room for more clothing on the amount of hangers that fit in my closet!

How do you organize your necklaces?  For years I have hung them in my closet along with my clothes.

I organize them by color so I know where to find them.  Gold and silver are in with the whites.

I have a ton of necklaces and this keeps them alone, untangled, and organized!  If I want a purple necklace I know where to find it!  AND seeing what your necklaces, reminds you what you have, helps you remember to accessorize!

Someday I'll have a nice big closet!  I'll be able to have all of my shoes in one spot ( I've been pretty creative there too! ), but for now we make it work creatively right?
