A Running Skirt or a Superhero Cape?
How do you feel about the skirt for running?
It's cute and all, can't deny that.
I've never bought one, to be honest. I've never tried wearing one, I've assumed that the little flap in the front may be annoying as I run.
It seems like a better fit for dancing!
Also, there is this funny part of me that feels like as I run I want to be tough, a fighter, a speed demon, a force to be reckoned with... it may be more appropriate for me to wear a super hero cape instead of a skirt!!!
The skirt feels too pretty for my competitive self!
You can't knock things until you try them right?
I found this skirt at Target for maybe $4. I can totally give the skirt a *whirl* (get it) for that cheap!
Last week I did a 3 mile run (with a mile swim after) and figured I could wear anything for 3 miles, time to try it.
I may have needed a smaller size because the shorts did a bit of crawling up my hoo-ha!
Because of that, I was sure glad I was wearing a skirt, since I was at the gym! The skirt covered the ride that was happening underneath!
I wouldn't be able to wear this for any long distance because I chafe! I like to have my thighs covered!
As for the flapping, I couldn't really feel it. It was actually ok.
All in all, it's a nice variety. I'll wear it to work out with, maybe lift and cycle in, because of the size maybe not run in!
I also recently purchased this great Avalanche top from +Marshalls .
How cute is this? It totally matches my recent nail polish!
It is so interesting, it feels like foam! It's super light, but thicker than fleece.
I wore it Saturday for my 8 mile run and was very happy with it. I wasn't sure how warm it would be so I wore a long sleeve under it... I was plenty warm and could've gone w/o the under layer.
I also wore my Avalanche fleece bottoms.
Saturday morning I choreographed a little production number for our Stake RS Activity this Saturday. It was great working with ladies from my stake... we all live so far away from each other we don't know each other. We had a great time laughing as we danced and sang.
By the time I was done with that the sun had gone into hiding, bummer. It was still so great to get outside to run though, and not freeze my face off!
For specifics on my weekly workouts you can jump over to my running log.
PS - I was not paid for anything in this post. I bought this gear with my own $ and these opinions are just me sayin' how I feel!
What about you? How do you feel about the skirt?
Men? Feelings?
Did you do a long run this weekend?
What do you wear out in the cold?
