The Woman I Want to Be... Sunday Linkup

Hello friends!
We are home!  We made it!
Back to the cold, but at least there is sunshine!

What is so great about being home?  My own bed, being able to use the bathroom without walking a mile, or driving 20, my keyboard, being able to go to church with my family, seeing my ward family.

I tell ya, it's pretty interesting that after only 1 week of missing church so many of the behaviors we practice there have magically melted from my children's thoughts and patterns!  That, and they had been in the car for a day and a half!

The kids were restless today, had a hard time being still, being thoughtful, being soft and kind.
So much of what I value about us going to church, besides the obvious teachings and ordinances we participate in while we are there... is the opportunity to be still, to be reverent, to take a break from our usual to be thoughtful, to worship our Savior, to direct our thoughts, to be outside of the distractions that are so common around us.

It is priceless to keep with the routine!  Even when it's hard, even though it takes a week or two to feel reverent again, even if you feel the kids aren't learning anything... the behaviors alone are worth it!!!

My soul hungers.  I so enjoy church, learning, sharing, gaining perspective.

My thoughts from today:
As we talked about Lot...
- Sometimes the best of intentions can get lost, we can lose our own footing and solid ground, and it can all start with the best of intentions.
- I can lose my own footing and perspective in the various things that I find 'important'.  Are they drawing me closer to true principles?
- Lot pitched his tent facing Sodom and Gomorrah, and eventually lived there.  We slowly gravitate to the things we place importance on, whether they be good or bad for us.
The things we put focus on affect the direction we travel in and ultimately where we end up.

As we talked about this Ensign article: The Moral Force of Women (I was in and out, rocking baby Aspen to sleep... adored that)
- There is a literal power/energy as things of one kind gather together, for good or bad and it does affect it's surroundings, to either lift or swallow.
- I believe in equality.  I also believe that equality is different than sameness.  This will be it's own post!
- I loved hearing this quote...
And not to be confused with a woman that is dominated or ruled over or forced to submit, or a woman who has no rights, this woman is one of power, of self surety and clarity, and her faith gives her power and strength, which shines through in her beauty.
This is a woman of God, and near her, through her, one feels beauty, love, hope and truth.
Those powerful positive energies are contagious and the result is, as she lifts those around her, they choose to be near her, elevated by her, this is the woman I want to be.

What did you learn at church today?  What lessons are you learning right now?  Are you the woman you want to be?  We continue to try right?

How about a favorite from last week's linkup?

I love how Alice styled this top... both times!  I could totally wear that to church!

vest: old Marshalls, ruffle top: old BJ's, jean skirt: Target, boots: Amazon

Let's link up... show us what you wear to church... or if you aren't church going folk, something you wear that others could wear to church!  It's Sunday, after all!  Enjoy your day!
