Getting Closer to Completion!
I always have multiple things going on... we know this about me.
Reaching completion is always the goal right? :)
Seriously... the climax, the endorphins, the squeals, the final sigh, happens when that project is sitting all nice and pretty right where you imagined it in the first place!
I'm getting there with this project. I've finished staining and I've poly'd it.
I'm squealing already. I love it! My final step is covering that back part. I hope to do that today, then, fun part, put it all together in it's spot, which will need to wait till my muscle comes home to help carry it in the house.
Here is what it looks like now...
Working note: (I've not been paid to say this!) I love this Rustoleum poly. It is water soluble which means I got to keep my paint brush after! It looks like a glue going on, a little white tint, which helps to see where you've painted. It's thinner, not as sticky as the other stuff, goes on smooth. I really like it. I totally recommend it. And, I'm a Lowe's girl! That's where I got mine.
Also, the stain I chose is a little blue/purple in it's undertones. As I finished the rust on the bottom looked too red and warm. I went ahead and used whatever stain was left on my cloth and just rubbed into the bottom metal. It cooled it off a bit. Looks much better.
Here she is... beauty!
Let's remember where we started with this post. AND, there will be one more reveal, when it's all pretty in my room.
