The Monday Workout
Yesterday was our first day of summer vacation!
I love to get out early and run or bike before the kids get up. It's nice to have some quiet both outside while I run, then inside before they get up. Heaven knows we don't get any more quiet until we all fall into bed at the end of the night!
Normally my Monday 5 miles are done on the treadmill.
I take O to school and come home to run.
Try this workout next time you're on the treadmill and tell me how you like it...
Mile 1 warm up: incline at 2 (I always run at the very least a 2 incline) speed 7.5
Mile 2: incline at 3 for half mile, then up to 4 incline for another half, speed 7.5
Mile 3: move incline up every quarter mile 5, 6, 7, 8. Speed stays at 7.5
Mile 4: down to 4 incline. It's amazing that it doesn't feel much like an incline after you've gone up to 8! Speed 7.5.
Mile 5: incline back to 2, speed to 8 for quarter mile, then progressively up to 9 or higher at the end.
Yesterday, of course I went outside for an easy 5. It was needed. My legs have felt fatigued.
My long run was tough on Saturday. I wanted to get 22 in, but only went 18. It was hot, which is good prep for running in UT. Unfortunately I ran out of liquid while I was out. It was a little rough!
I will get my 22 in next week.
My legs are feeling the purpose of training, depleted at times, so they can rebuild. Getting ready for this... the last .2 of the marathon!
Today I went for a bike ride with Molly. They leave today for UT. We'll be out there in just a few weeks. (Made plans w/ Lynette this morning.... so excited!) Molly and I had such a good visit and a great ride! Can't wait to be on my bike more later this year.

That helmet is such a great look right?
