When I Grow Up...
Of course I love this little boy.
One thing I love about him is his determination and dedication.
He wants to learn a skill, he will do it over and again until he has it down.
Last year I wrote about his first time on ice at his friends ice skating party.
He hadn't been on ice since then.
This winter the kids discovered ice under some snow in our backyard (Duh, it's always a small pond back there in the spring, don't know why I didn't think of that!). They discovered a long strip too near our side fence. They cleared it all off to 'ice skate'.
First they were in their boots skating around. G wanted to try on his skates. I got these for him at a yard sale... they are 2 sizes too big. He doesn't care! He laced them up and has been out on his own ice many times these last couple of months!
Now he wants to be a hockey player when he grows up... at least until spring comes, then that will switch to a baseball player, or basketball player.
He loves sports. He's good at them too. He loves bettering himself. I admire that about him. This year he has taught himself to skate. Most kids here have been skating since they were little, he just started, but is well on his way, who knows, maybe he will be a hockey player!
