I was doing dishes
I was standing doing dishes last week and looked at the mess around me, laughed to myself, stopped what I was doing, and took a picture! My life is often like this, a huge mess, several projects happening at once! On this day in particular I had made muffins for breakfast, still out, I was doing the dishes, which you can see on the counter, bagging snacks for snack time and lunch time, softening butter to make frosting for those cupcakes also sitting out, compiling recycle things to go out to the garage.
My big project was to bag chips, crackers, pretzels, applestraws, cookies etc, AND create a drawer for snacks as well as a basket for lunch items. It has been great, not only for the mornings when we are putting backpacks together, but for after school and weekends!
The basket of pre-bagged chips, cookies and such saves me a lot of time when I pack lunches.
I love it! We also have a drawer in the fridge that has gogurt, cheese sticks, pepperoni, pickles and other snacks. I cannot take credit, of course, Becky Higgins shared this as her back to school tip! It's a great tip!
The other mess was all of the extra cupcakes I had on my counter. I had made a whole slew of them for a BBQ I hosted. We made little strawberry shortcakes with them. I had plenty left over so I made some frosting and decorated the cupcakes. I bought tips in August and it's been fun to pull them out and decorate. I'm no good at it, but I still like it!
I've also been an animal organizing closets, changing seasonal clothing, finding better solutions for my wrapping, party decor... it's been empowering.
Other things I am loving right now... new shoes!
Damita gave me a gift card and I bought myself these pretty red shoes! I so love them! I also recently purchased these fabulous riding boots. I love that the cool weather is here, I've already worn them!
Loving gel nails. I bought the lamp and all of the necessities for me to Shellac my nails myself! I AM SOLD! I love polish, but it will NOT stay on my busy hands! Now it does and my nails are strong and don't break! Can't say enough. I will forever love this stuff! Even better Molly is loving it too so we get together to do our nails. Pretty great!
Love the sunny, chilly days. My favorite time of year!
