A Table For My Table...
Here is the story...
We got this table last year from a friend. I spray painted the chairs, to use for some photos, and we've used this table just a handful of times.
My big idea was to turn it into a lazy suzan for the middle of our square table where we eat. It is quite difficult to reach across the thing. The idea was quickly shot down by husband who didn't want anything on the table (not sure if he knew it wasn't a permanent fixture on the table, or what the hesitation was).
I was recently on a craft whim and just went for it, get that table out of storage and use it!
Here is how it looked before...
First I gave it a quick rough sanding, a wipedown, then I wallpapered it with the left over wallpaper from THIS project. I cut roughly around the edges after matching the seams up so it was easier to work with.
After it dried I sanded down around the edges to get the rest of the paper off. I used some ModPodge to glue some of the edges that didn't quite stick. Next I took the legs off.
Then I attached a very large ball bearing lazy susan piece that I bought online.
Well, actually husband screwed that in, after confirming that I decided to do this anyway, even though he wanted to leave it as a table...
I appreciate his help, despite his dismay!
I put a couple of coats of polyurethane on this little love and whala, it's done!
I LOVE it!!!
It has come in handy, and looks so cute with decor on it!
Husband loves it too! He ate a little humble pie from it after it was finished ;)
