Finding Joy...
In weekend retreats. Our stake Relief Society had a getaway and it was wonderful. I loved laughing, getting to know new people, and being spiritually uplifted. I'll admit, that I sort of didn't want to go, but I am SO glad I did. I needed it.
In the temple. It had been way too long since I had been. Boy, I needed it.
In watching little birdies feed just outside our window. I got M some feeders for our anniversary and he hasn't seen any birds yet, but the kids and I have. It is quite peaceful and fun to watch them visit.
In good women all around me. Really, I am so blessed. If you wonder if your words matter to people, let me assure you they always do! A little lift here, an encouragemnt there, they keep us going, at least for me! The unexpected ones always seem to count most, and seem to come at needed times. Keep speaking kind words, they matter.
In dancing. I haven't felt ready to go back. I feel a little uninspired. I didn't dance at all this summer. I went back on Monday. I really am so grateful to be able to dance, it brings me joy.
In good food and an old friend. I had dinner last night w/ Amy H. It was so good to reconnect w/ her. We sat there for like 3 hours and visited. She is really a wonderful woman.
In photography. I have been taking many photos. I love it! My favorite part is always in the meeting of people, connecting with them, making them laugh, sharing w/ them. I love my camera, it is WONDERFUL!
In the scriptures. There is much to learn there and I am finding such joy in hearing what my Heavenly Father has to tell me through these books.
In the changing weather. I love fall and our weather is certainly fall-ish. Jeans and a short sleeve shirt, maybe a cardigan, is perfect for me. Marci taught me the joy of a cute cardi, can never have too many!
In a break. I am still running, but decided to wait to run a marathon until the spring. The one I was going to run filled up anyway, plus, just other stuff. It feels good to get back to just going, not spending my Saturdays on super long runs. I'd like to say I don't even need my watch, but I do. I can't go w/o timing myself now! I don't want to drop in time and will always push to stay at least where I am. No falling behind. I want to stay at 10-13 mile long runs until training time starts again. Just enjoying, no pressure!
In crafting. Oh, my hands always have to be busy. I don't know why! It does bring me joy though, to have a few minutes of spare time making something.
