We had a very merry Christmas.
Crazy Matt and I decided to start on our kitchen floor a couple of days before, and it of course took a little longer than expected, so our season was filled with installing new hard wood! Our poor kids! Thank heavens for mandatory breaks so we could actually appreciate and enjoy our holiday! As for our kitchen it looks sooooo FABULOUS! Who knew? All we need to do now is put up our baseboards and we are done. It feels so nice and really, it's the heart of our home, so our whole home feels so much better!
How sad that the first photo I took of our tree this year was on Christmas Eve? It was beautifully aglow, and Santa did make it through the mess to leave gifts for the kids! They were worried since our kitchen table was in the family room and all of the tools were in the kitchen.
The week after Christmas was great. I had a shoot on Saturday; we only had one hour of church on Sunday! Yipee! We got together with friends to play on Monday (Tara & Kari) and Wednesday we had a New Year bash here at our house. It was loads of fun, filled with many laughs! We missed a couple of families that couldn't make it, but still, much fun! I love it when laughter fills my home! Laughing sure is the way to my heart!
We had yummy food, played the Wii, Family Feud, The Price is Right, and of course a few rounds of Spoons! Matt reigned supreme! He is the ultimate spoons champion!!! We are so proud!!! I love that the goal of all involved is to try to knock him out!!! He takes it pretty serious! Jeff and Adam had a bit of a battle one round, glad it didn't come to blows!
This past weekend was a good one. My kids have been missing school though and yesterday was a good day! It is great to be back into the swing of things. I really like schedules! We are looking forward to this new year and all of the good it is sure to hold for all of us!
