The bugetarium
We have some big 'little tykes' toys in the back yard. The kids have grouped them all together and turned them into the 'bugetarium'! They love to collect bugs and make them little homes!
Here is a fuzzy caterpillar trying out the slide...
I've been really surprised at how much G loves bugs! The kid can't walk past a spider web w/o utter concern, meaning he's frightened, but he can't get enough of bugs.
This month dad spotted a cool scene which both kids enjoyed...
They were completely intrigued by this little creature. G has been asking us for a bug pet (he saw a little friend that had caught an insect and kept it in a jar) and he was all about this little guy. He went and got a shim and put that 'moth' on it and carried around all day. We aren't sure what it is exactly but we are calling it the moth. He was petting it and loving it! So funny!
He put the little guy in the bugetarium at the end of the day. He was so happy to find him the next morning. He had turned black. G carried that little moth around for another day. He usually runs and plays, but he just carried that little guy and pet him!
I think the following day the moth was gone.
But, a few days later he returned, and we see him now and again.
It makes me think of the Dr. Seuss story "Are You My Mother?" Little G my as well have been! He took care of that little bug!
