New stuff

Susan asked if I knew which US President was mayor of the big Buff. Sadly, no, I didn't know, but that is where I began my search for knowledge tonight! (with the help of Matt leading me in the right direction... he knows a lot of crap!)

Grover Cleveland is who that was. He was the only President that served two terms of office that were not consecutive. He was the 22 and the 24 President of the US. I'd tell you more about what I learned, but I don't want to bore you!

All I can say is Buff soooo needs a mayor like him again. We have such a corrupt government here. We need a good house cleaning followed by someone that is honest. Good help is so hard to find!

Today was lovely! We still have some cloud remnants, but they finally seem to be clearing out. We went door shopping today. We've been waiting to replace our exterior doors until absolutely necessary (so dang expensive) and that time has arrived. Oddly enough the one that needs replacing the worst is one we thought we'd just leave alone. With this mass rain we've discovered that the leak in our basement is from this door. The water is coming in through there and the door has rotted. I guess we'll go ahead and just do it all now.

We went boating today with our friends the Christensens. That was good times. It was sunny as we left so I went ahead and got into my swim suit. It has been so long since I've skied and I have really been wanting to. Well, we went exploring, which was totally cool. It's great seeing things from the river's point of view. As we headed back it got colder. Well, it took a wet suit, then a lapse of good judgment, but I jumped in the FREEZING cold water. Really people. I have NEVER been in water so cold. I had a hard time breathing. ANYWAY. Besides the very painful, cold water, the skiing was great. I got up on try #2 and was off, just like riding a bike. It felt good. Love waterskiing.

My kids were pretty concerned. Still, when I was putting G to bed he was talking about me falling in the water. Matt said Q's little body was tense the whole time I was out in the water and they kept asking if I was okay. Oh, if they only knew the joy!

ETA: I found out today that the water has dropped from the 70's to the 50's. I was skiing in 56 degree water! Crazy!

Anyway, it's been a good day.
