Service with a smile...
Friday was a long day for me. I watched two additional kiddies during the day, which always causes you to be more involved. It's a shame it's not always that way with only my kids! I made dinner for our neighbors. The mom had surgery on Friday. As soon as I dropped dinner off I headed over to take pictures for this wedding. They mostly wanted me to do the bridal party photos. After I was finished taking photos, while I was waiting to get paid, I helped out a bit in the kitchen. A bit turned into a lot and I ended up helping until the reception was over.
Life's a beach...
Saturday morning I went to take photos on a beach. They are going to be lovely! I can't wait to work on them. It was comfy taking photos of our good friends the Hulse's. We worked out in the yard a little. Q ran through the sprinkler with our neighbor. Matt took the day off and went golfing, reading and even shopping! We have watched two movies over the weekend. We rented three for our kids and they can't get enough of "Toy Story", "Tarzan", and "Shark Tales".
Scoping the scene...
Yesterday I went to Grand Island to check out where I'll be taking photos this Friday. Interesting. This will be my largest group yet. I hope it goes okay!
Words to live by...
Yesterday Q, of her own mind, told me, "Mom, you are the best mom". Man, that made me feel good! Praising the good behavior paid off in more "bests". The one that cracked me up was (while I was getting her more dinner), "Mom, you're the best getter". Mom being the best became her tagline for the night. Fine by me! It was great to hear!
The Matt McAfee curse...
There is a story that goes something like this... "You were the happiest baby, until you turned two. You cried everyday after that." This is the story told by Helen, Matt's mom, about her son Matt. Now, I'm not so sure just because I married the man I should receive the repercussions of this curse, but apparently the cursing gods don't care! G is paying your son back for the pain he caused you Helen... he's paying me too! G can be THE cutest thing EVER, really, but man can he whine and cry... ugh!
Paid off...
I got paid today, in product, for my layouts that were published in Scrapbook Trends Baby book. Man, I got some great stuff! I guess the difference between getting paid in product, that you give away, and product that you love and use is in the number of layouts used in one magazine! The BEST part though was flipping through each page, then bam, seeing my layouts! Man, that is a good feeling.
I'll come back and add photos to this. Have a happy 4th!
