These are the best days
Friday was such a good day.
Matt woke up and decided not to go to work!
So, we decided on a whim to go to Marineland. We went ahead and got season passes. It was a perfectly overcast day. Since it was Friday there was very little traffic. This is a great park with the combination of great things to see (sea life) and fun things to do (rides for kids and adults). It was good times. Here are some photos.
Our first stop... killer whales. It was feeding time.
Hanging out underground, watching the whales.
Big hugs!
Watching the sea lion, seal, dolphin and walrus show... quite the combo!
It wasn't wise to leave our stroller at home. We ended up renting one.
Watching the balooga whales,
next time we will feed the whales.
G could only do a few rides. They both enjoyed the Ferris wheel.
Q and I did the spaceships.
G thought the boats were cool.
Q was so brave! The last two 'big' rides did her in! She hated them. She liked this coaster though.
Looking at the bears
Feeding the fish...
which are huge.
Since there were no lines I went ahead and hit a few rides! This screamer is perfectly stationed on a hill... after being shot up you can see the falls and even clear out to Buffalo!
Q and I
It was such a fun day together as a family.
Yesterday we finished our family room. It is looking sharp. We decided to paint our fireplace black. I think it will look great. We still need to finish that little project, but the room already looks so much better. I will need to live with some ugly brown trim for a little while. I think we are going to wait to do all of the trim when we replace the doors.
I forgot to report that Q can spell her name. This was discovered last week. I just asked her as we drove to get slurpees. She answered with Q-U-I-N-L-Y-N. Matt looked at me... how long has she been able to do that? I have a job chart for each of them in their room and they love running to each other's rooms to spell. I knew she could recognize each letter, but I didn't know she could just spell it! Good for her! I am proud. Now we need to work on writing it.
That brings me to preschool. I'm not sure if I'm ready to put her in yet. I know she needs something, but I don't know if she is ready... or is it just me. Is it unfair for me to not let her go because I'm not ready? I know we will do something this year. Even if I don't put her in preschool this year I will do something. She is only three. She is learning and will be in school for many years to come. Is it wrong to wait until she's four?
