Crazy Sunday
CHURCH
It started off great. Matt didn't have early meetings so he was able to help me get the kids to church, and we got to go together.
That is about where it all ended! Q was on something today! It didn't help that our meeting went 20 minutes over... yes... and as much as I love people and respect what they have to say, I just can't hear it, when in my head I keep repeating to myself people should not STILL be walking up to the pulpit! I know, I'm awful!
Matt usually takes the kids during church should they need anything during nursery. Today, however he needed to teach a lesson, and well, I have to every Sunday. Both of us felt the stress of needing to parent our kids while needing to take care of other people!
During our second hour Matt brought both kids into where I was. Q had tripped and fallen into some bin in nursery and man does she have a shiner! I'm so glad she didn't get her eye. Little G is just having major seperation issues when Matt puts him down! He won't even come to me? That's new! So, I soothed my daughter for a bit, she was feeling better, and being noisy, so I took her back to nursery, even though she didn't want to. The rest of the time I tried to calm my son down. He was crazy out of control, loud, crying, tired! He came into my class during our third hour and it was interesting. He threw up and totally grossed out my little 5-6 year old kids!!! One of them told me he was going to tell his mom what happened. I thought she might get a good laugh out of it! It was such a crazy day. I was so glad as we got into the car to come home!
Days like this it's hard to be at church, it's hard to feel spiritual, you wonder why you are there, because you sure ain't worshipping!
CRAFT SHOW
This was a TOTAL flop! But, the good news is that it's not because our stuff sucks, it's because we went to, well, I don't want to be rude, I'll just say, location is EVERYTHING. Amy and I learned a bunch, made some GREAT contacts that will result in opportunity later, and enjoyed each other's company. We kept reassuring each other that our things were priced fairly, and took comfort in other's saying they weren't selling anything either.
Like I said, location is everything and the one show we wanted, we were too late for. We're booking early for next year! There is also a good one coming up this spring that we WILL have a table at. I think we have great, unique stuff and I think it will sell, to the right demographic.
We did find success selling to other crafters! I did have a couple of other purchases (thanks to good friends who feel sorry for me), but I didn't do anywhere close to what I hoped! I also had a lady take some of my things to her gift shop to sell. I hope they do well.
I'm not sad or dissapointed, just anxious to give it a real shot.
