Country Girl
Tonight we went down to Susan's farms to take pictures of the barn and horses. We've been just a couple of times since we've lived here. I didn't realize just how "country" my little girl is! How can one so small be so fearless? Running towards the horses as we are yelling for her to wait for us!!!! We don't want them to chomp on your little fingers. Free! Running!
We don't know anybody named Maxwell, but the horse she kept feeding she called Maxwell. "Good job guys", "Come here horse", "I'll just feed them", "I'll just go see these ones". There are different horses in different fields and she wanted to be with them all. They watched her and paid attention to her. She fed them. She CRIED when we said it was time to go. Not "tantrum" cry, but tears down her neck, nose running, SO devastated cry. Like I said, I didn't realize how country my little girl is.
G was a bit tense about the experience, rightly so! These are some amazing creatures, but, very large! He was content in Matt's arms, watching from a distance!
I wanted to photograph this farm in particular. I have a "someday" album and in it will go photos from Susan's farm "Oakfields". I don't quite need 300 acres! I'd settle for more like 10! But, someday I hope to have space. I hope to have horses, just a couple. I hope I have a place my kids will love so much, they'll cry when they leave! Any place is home, but I'd love home to include a little piece of Oakfields.
